Place and time of action: Vienna, early 19th century. The play is written with dialogues, but the means of expression are exclusively pantomime. It was first staged on the Russian stage in 1910 by Vsevolod Meyerhold, under the title of "Columbine Scarf". It paved the way for a number of serious experiments that transformed the performing arts of the 20th century. In 1914 Meyerhold's experiment was repeated with a new breath by Alexander Tairov: he opened his Chamber Theater with a pantomime entitled "The Veil of Pierrette" based on the same play by Arthur Schnitzler.

The theme of the play is the real life of Edith Giovanna Gassion, born in one of the poorest districts of Paris. A little woman who could not imagine her life without love, who invested all her soul and inner world to convey an inexhaustible amount of love and affection. Piaf's life was full of bitter disappointments, rapid ups and destructive downs. Edith Piaf was the soul of France, the queen of chanson, the classic symbol of true music, a legend during her lifetime. By touching the genius and thinking of her strong spirit, you realize that even in this cynical times the greatest of human virtues, love is like a little hidden flower that will break out and blossom one day...
